First HP Indigo 7500 in The Netherlands at Van Deventer

FULL STORY
HP has announced that Drukkerij Van Deventer, of 's Gravenzande near The Hague, has become the first company in The Netherlands to install the HP Indigo 7500 digital press, helping the company to expand its business by entering the short-run and variable data markets.

Drukkerij Van Deventer has built a reputation for delivering high-quality offset work, which includes promotional materials, books, magazines and annual reports. From the company's perspective, extending its services to include digital print required a press that could offer the same consistently high quality as offset and the HP Indigo 7500 was the ideal solution.

‘The new press offers a powerful combination of offset-equivalent quality, low consumable costs and on-demand printing capability. With these benefits, we are well-placed to enter the growing market for personalised printed products, and strengthen our share of the smaller run market,’ said Johan Van Deventer, managing director, Drukkerij Van Deventer (pictured).

With its full print management service, from design to distribution, Drukkerij Van Deventer is well prepared to compete in the on-demand print market. The company sees opportunities to offer short runs and personalised products to its complete customer base, which varies from small businesses and professional guilds to international organisations. Prestigious names in the company portfolio include a multi-national furniture retailer, government authorities at local and national level, the world's largest flower market auction, and a national lottery provider. The HP Indigo is being used for flyers, folders, product sheets, business cards, brochures and mailings.

Just weeks after installation, variable data applications were already proving popular with Drukkerij Van Deventer's customers. ‘The fifth colour station on the press is used mainly for coating,’ commented Van Deventer. ‘Many of our offset products include a sealant varnish, applied in-line. As a result, our customers' print-work has the same appearance, whether it is produced by conventional or digital means.’

Encouraged by the first results, the company is making every effort to sell this new functionality across its customer base. ‘Because of the speed and simplicity offered by the HP Indigo 7500 we are confident that the digital concept will be enthusiastically received by many of our clients,’ concluded Van Deventer.
